I agree with Zeph, somewhere in between the 2 versions.
I will give you a tip of something I commonly do, because I will admit I can overcook some of my images. You know, it's late at night, and it never seems to have enough contrast or color. And then I wake up in the morning asking myself what it was I was thinking....
So what I do, is I overlay in Photoshop the Overcooked version on top of the natural version. Then I go to Opacity in the Layers window, and I adjust the opacity down to where it then is somewhere in between the 2 versions. Usually I end up between 40 to 60% Opacity.
I have found rather then editing a 3rd version, that the Opacity change like that is an easy way to dial in the look you want.
