Mid-Summer M17 SHO

Between November 2023 and January 2024 I have had ONE night of imaging. Now I am reduced to applying the great new Pixinsight and Astropixel Processor tools, techniques, and apps to my older images. So this is a reprocess of a previous effort on M17.

This version of M17 is from July 2021. At that time I had less than 2 years of astro imaging experience.

These subframes were captured over our July 4 long weekend vacation. We were situated on the western edge of the Rogue-Umpqua Wilderness area. Although the nights were short, the skies were dark, and happily, the mosquitoes were not very aggressive!

Enjoy the view!

The Omega nebula is a fun one indeed! I need to be able to rework mine, or just image it again as I have the new Antlia ALP-T 5nm filter I would like to use on it.

Great job with this Andy, it sure looks great!

This came out nicely indeed. hard not to be super frustrated with such a restriction in night to image.
