Millions of Meteors + SOOC Meteors + Meteor Color Info

Hey John, that's a great suggestion and a more productive way to blend in the meteors. My problem is I am a bit OCD, so I like not having 40 layers in my processing. So that's me. But for anyone reading this, it's the same end result, but this method is more productive as you can have more meteors in a saved photo. (depending on how often you backup while processing).

As you know:
You can also group several or all the masked meteor layers into a group or groups as you work, when you feel confident with the composite result—so it’s not such an overwhelming stack in your layers palette. At that point one can merge the group or groups into a single layer or layers to lessen the document’s file size if you feel confident of their placement and appearance in the image.

Yep, you are right John. I tried to clean up my processing flow to be less destructive a few years back but slipped back into my old bad habits. The next time I do a Meteor shower I will do it the way you listed. Thanks so much for the encouragement. :)

Spectacular, Jim ! I saw some incredible bright Perseid explosions at Pawleys Island but could not get them on camera.

You created a beautiful image and I always enjoy seeing your images. There are multiple ways in Photoshop to accomplish one’s goal and none are “right” or “wrong“ but some methods may be more flexible and as you said ”less destructive.”

Thank you Don! Some of them do truly seem like explosions.

Now that you have dipped your toe into Milky Way photos, you might need to add meteors to your night time learning experience.

Thanks John, I am glad you enjoy them. And I do appreciate you sharing your thoughts on an alternative to my processing steps. I think it's great that we can share suggestions with each other here. :)
