I was thinking that they didn't look all that stealthy in flight but the last shot certainly shows how well their camouflage works.

I sure like how their necks seem to pull back into their bodies. And I like how you captured it on the ground, it's neat seeing that as well.

Thanks Alan, it's difficult to see them in the reed if they don't move.

I have been trying for years to get a great Bittern shot. These are lovely Kevin.
Thank you Trent. I've also been trying for years and I'm still not happy with the standing shots I've got.

Thanks Jim, I think most of the Heron family fly with their necks tucked in.
