My experience with Adorama

I bought two sets of flashpoint xplor 600 pro ttl from Adorama a few months ago. After I bought it I charged both batteries and did couple of test shots at my home put back in the case. Few days back when I tried again the battery was completely drained and wouldn’t charge again at all (So in last minute I have to do 2 paid photoshoots with my backup flash!). I contacted Adorama and they said they will exchange it but I’ve to ship prepaid and insured, so spent $77 today to ship it. So basically, I spent $1800 plus $77 and still waiting to get the product, IMO, it’s not fair at all for me to spent another $77 for their mistake. Just wanted to share my experience with Adorama.

There was a time when I used to buy a lot of stuff from Adorama, I haven't bought anything from them for a while now. I don't recall really why I had stopped and switched more to BH Photo, but I did.

I've had nothing but bad experiences with them. A bunch of schiesters that somehow got successful. Silly name, too!

I used to use them before they were an online store but had too many experiences of hard upsell efforts when I was dealing with them on the phone. B&H has done a much better job of keeping my attention as a customer.

I buy from both, B&H is my preferred. The main reason I buy from Adorama is to support them and being around as a competitor for B&H. But now I feel screwed when they told me I must pay shipping and insurance for their fault.

Most unfortunate!........BUT now you can exercise the real power you have....a better place to do business. Thanks for the heads up.
