My wife has finally convinced me to put some of my images up on the wall.

We have decided to put two large (30x24) verticals in the large space to the left and three medium images (20x16) on the right part of the wall.
(See image outlines in the image below.)

I have never put any of my images on my walls during the forty years I have been a professional photographer. All of the pictures on my walls are from other artists I appreciate. So, I am asking for your help in choosing among these images. We are limiting the choices to flowers, which are my passion.

Here are the contenders below:

Please choose two of the large images depicted here.

Hard to choose for someone else's walls but here goes - #1 and #2 for the large prints with #4, 6, and 7 for the smaller prints. Good luck!

Hey Doug,

Your photography is just as good if not better then any of those you had hanging on your walls. So I am glad she talked you into putting up your own photography. You should have 1 room that is like your gallery.

These are all world class photos, you couldn't go wrong with any of them.

My choices are:

#1 and 2 because they are landscape photos they will better fill the larger frame.

Then the smaller ones should be the intimate closeups.

For those 3 I will choose: I would go with #4, 6 and 8 because of their colors. Those 3 work together well. I would put #8 in the middle between #4 and 6 so that the color that is the closest to each other borders the pink of #8.

If you wanted white flowers, I would go with #5, 7 and 9.

But I do like the #4, 8 and 6 combo the best.

I choose 1 & 2 for the big ones. 3 is beautiful but I think the water pulls your eye away from the flowers. Then 4 all the way (it is so stunning), 5 and 6!

For the large ones: #7 &2. I would leave the individual flowers for the smaller ones. I guess I'm the only one who actually picked 2 as you requested...... Almost impossible to choose! But, really, you should print them on paper & move them around & see what looks best next to each other.

What a great way to liven up the house! What media are you going to use?

I am sure that will be a very nice display. I feel like I should mention one other solution though just in case you like it. It allows you to display any and all of your images on the wall, one at a time, in a way that mimics a matted and framed picture. I use it to display my favorites in a rotating random display. It is actually a TV but I do not use it for that. It is optimized to display artwork when turned off, and is made to hang flush to the wall with no wires showing. Mine looks like this (showing a couple of different images, with and without the simulated matting)

It is called TheFrame, and is made by Samsung. I have close to 400 images loaded on mine, which is a 55 inch display. if you have ever matted and framed images you can do the math and figure out a ballpark price for what it would cost to physically mat and frame that many 55" images (you could but at least one car for that amount of money...) It is a 4k display, and can be set to adjust its brightness to the room brightness, which allows it to more effectively mimic a physically framed hanging picture. Once it gets below a certain room brightness the illusion is not as effective of course. It can be set to turn off after a period of time, and turn back on when motion is detected. I am sure it is not a solution for everyone, but for me, I no longer need to worry about making any prints, and can enjoy a much larger number of my images viewed this way than I ever would have been able to do before. Additionally, it can display famous artwork as well, if you subscribe to that service. But for your own work, it is just upload and view, all for free.

Feel free to call if you have any questions.

In any case, great to see you putting up some of your wonderful art. It is always great to see your own stuff up on the wall!
