Near Benson Lake

This is the view looking downstream on the Columbia River from out over the water near Multnomah Falls. Benson Lake is the small lake on the far side of the freeway that catches the outflow of Multnomah Falls before draining into Wahkeena Creek and joining the Columbia. Wahkeena creek and falls are up the canyon just beyond Banson Lake. I had just finished shooting Multnomah Falls from this spot over the river and turned to face downstream for this view before flying back. Benson Recreation Area is a small park at the end of Benson Lake which is my launch spot for shooting in this area. The Union Pacific rain line is on the far shore of the lake and marks the edge of the No Fly Zone for drones in this area. Single shot at 24mm taken last Monday.

I like the scattering of fall colors sprinkled in there. What a cool view Alan.
Thanks Jim - the fall colors up on the hillsides show where the Eagle Creek Fire left its mark. The low deciduous plants are the first to repopulate the burned forest. The lakes only exist because of the terraforming done when the freeway was built.
