New astro website

Hey Ed,

I only have time for a Quick Look as I am driving down to New Mexico.

I am using my phone, and at a quick glance, I like the way it looks. Very nicely put together. It's fun if nothing else to have your own website.

One issue, and it may only be for mobile, but for the 3 galleries, I don't see the Titles for the 3 Galleries until I click on the thumbnail for the Gallery when Title appears for a brief second and then disappears as the website opens the Gallery page.

Ed,

This looks quite good, the image quality is very good especially. Some websites do a lot of compression, but it appears you are not dealing with that. Who is the website provider for this if you don't mind me asking?

I like the way it is organized, and the only feedback I would give is that if you have the option to do so, some more generic info on the objects might be interesting, at least to the casual viewer of the site who is not going to be as intimately familiar with these targets as those of who image them are.

Yes, I didn't like the way they ID the galleries, buy hovering over the images, and with mobile it doesn't work very well as you have experianced.... I need to explore a different way to call them out. Thanks for the feedback

I agree, I need to add background and scientific info to each image. It just went live Wednesday so I still have a lot of work to do.

The web provider I used was WIX. thanks for the feedback...

Ok very good. I think you will have a wonderful site and it will be fun to keep it up to date. There is no substitute for having a site you can send your friends to to see all your wonderful astro images in one place. I certainly like mine. Good luck, keep up the good work!

What is the link to your site?

Thanks for asking - Well my stuff is at www.thinairphotography.com You will see both my scenic stuff and astro stuff there. It is hosted on SmugMug, which I like for the most part, and was extremely easy to set up. I originally used Zenfolio, but I did not like the compression they used for displaying images - I see none of that on my SmugMug site (or on your site either for that matter.)
