New Subies

I was up in the air scouting for fall leaf color patches and spotted a Subaru car transport carrier ship on its way up the Columbia River heading to the Port of Vancouver. To give a sense of scale to this scene the car carrier has a 40' draft (the shipping channel is rated for 43') and is 656' long. It can carry up to 7100 Subarus. The river channel is roughly 3 miles from where my drone was hovering when I shot this with the Drone's 162mm lens.

Reminds me of a song about "The man from mars" who ate guitars and Subarus. So you must be on the north side and the ship is going east? This is a heck of a view.

Not a song I am familiar with I have to confess. This part of the Columbia is where the river heads north up to Longview so I am on the east side looking west and the ship is heading south. Vancouver Lake is off to the left side of this frame.
