NGC2442, the Meathook Galaxy

It's interesting (to me) to see how this hobby changes how you view your past output. I photographed this galaxy when i first got started in astrophotography in 2022 and was really proud of the image I produced. When I look at it now, having just reshot the galaxy last night, I am shocked that I thought it was anything to rave about. I imagine in four years I'll feel the same about this, but in the meantime it's the best version of this galaxy (located 50 million lightyears away) that I have shot.

This is one super cool looking galaxy! Yeah, it's amazing how hare perspective seems to change along with our abilities. :)

This version looks super cool, you did great. And I really like the shape of this galaxy.

I decided last night to add another night's worth of subs to this. See if you can detect any difference between this 14.25-hour version and the previous 7-

hour version.
