I have been trying to collect enough data on this target to make a worthwhile image for a few weeks, but it only rises above my house late at night, and then before long it crosses the meridian, and the SCT I needed to use to shoot it has been giving me trouble with focus, especially after a meridian flip. I tried just about everything I could think of and for several nights I wound up losing dozens of subs to poor focus. Then yesterday I noticed that the Electronic Focuser sort of "wobbled" against the back of the scope, so I thought I'd see if I could tighten it up (I could) and whaddaya know, now the darned thing focuses like a champ! Now I know what people meant when they told me I had a screw loose!
Anyway, here at long last is enough of an integration to be worth sharing--11-1/4 hours of combined broadband and narrowband shots of the Needle's Eye galaxy, NGC247.
