Night Heron

I was walking around a local lake a few years ago when I spotted this Night Heron sitting on on a log using only one leg. I just watch as I walk near and stopped to change my lens. I grabbed a couple of shots just before he flew off. He was in some tall grass near the shore and I almost missed seeing him. That bright spot of light on has face gave him away.

I love the contrast of the bright red eye on the rest of the bird's face. Neat shot and a good stroke of luck it hung out while you changed your lens for the capture.

Hi Alan, thanks for the comments, appreciated. Some time you have good luck like that and other days you only have buzzard luck (can't catch nothing and nothing will die!)

Thanks for the comments Jim, appreciated! That spot of light is what caught my and I was able to look pas the tall grasses an focus on the bird.
