Northern Lighrs Visited Us Again

Some recent Solar activity hit the earth yesterday. During the afternoon it was showing almost KP9. So after dropping a couple of grandkids off at the dance studio, I threw my cameras back into my truck and drove North into Wyoming.

Due to cloudy weather in Northern Wyoming, j stayed in Southern Wyoming, I figured that while ot would be stronger the more North j went, but if I couldn't see it due to clouds, there was no point.

So I went to a place called Vedauwoo that is between Cheyenne and Laramie. It's a place I have stopped at often while driving on the I-80.

Setting up cameras were a pain, 25mph winds, it was 23 degrees out with a windchill of 9 degrees. So I would set one camera up and get it going, and jump back into my 4Runner to warm up for a few minutes before setting up the next one.

I am sitting in my truck, it's 4am so I decided to post this iPhone photo I brightened a bit. I will post some photos from my cameras later.

It wasn't quite as windy where I was, but just about as cold. I didn't actually look at the temperatures, but I was in puffy pants & jacket, Icelandic wool sweater underneath and Icelandic wool jacket over, plus heavy boots, hat & gloves to not get too cold. Waiting to see what you got with your "real" cameras!

Thanks Monika.

I only put on my winter jacket, gloves, and face covering winter hat. I probably should have put on pants and boots, but I didn't because my legs and feet didn't get cold, it was my face that wasn't covered and fingers stinging that would have me go warm up in my truck for a few minutes. And since I knew I would be spending the majority of the night in my truck, I didn't want to dress too warm or I would be sweating in my truck. So that's why I only half winter dressed. :)
