We decided (needed) to take a day off from skiing so we took a road trip to Leadville. On the way, this scene caught my eye as we went by. For once in my life, I turned around to capture it.
Thanks John, I'm glad I turned around too!Bob, glad you did turn around—and share this striking image.
It was one of those scenes that reminded me of the barn and the tetons.I love the view of the deep high elevation snow in this scene. A distinctly high color contrast to the reds of this shed.
We did get to Leadville. Walked about, had lunch and took a few snaps (I'll be sharing more). For once in your life you turned around? My life is so full of u-turns to take photos I would make someone dizzy. It took me a few years of saying I will capture something on the way back to never end up capturing it. Then I finally decided I am making u-turns!
And that is a great one to make a u-turn for. I think the snow adds a lot to the scene and helps isolate the building. The winter time is best for that. During the reset of year a lot of those buildings just blend into the ground.
Did you get to Leadville? How did you like it? It's a very fun town with so many historic buildings.
My wife is awesome when we travel. She's very supportive so if I say I want to turn around, she gets it.Beautiful image Bob, glad you decided to turn around. Thaks for sharing this great scene!
When I have my wife with me I turn around a lot; she sees things she want to shot as we are driving past and makes so much noise that I have to turn around at the first chance I get just to quiet her down. She is usually right there was a great image there that I was driving past. I only wish she could see thing that are coming up and not just when I am driving past!!!![]()
