Orange Aspen

On the Road between Silverton and Ouray we found lots of orange aspen on several hillsides.

No shortage of colors in this location. The orange is a nice contrast with the more traditional gold and yellows of the larger trees. Looks like the site of an old forest fire given the standing snags.

I think you are right this being an old forest fire site, lots of old standing snags.

One doesn't find many of the Orange aspen groves. They do exist, but are for sure rare. You hit the jackpot here Larry.

Thanks Jim, I really got excited when I same some many orange aspen leaves, as you said they are rare in large numbers!
