Oregon Ghost Town

Hardman Oregon in north central Oregon is pretty much gone, but not forgotten. On a trip up to Washington State's Palouse wheatfields, we stopped in Hardman for an hour or so to take a few shots. This was the best of the buildings as far structural integrity. Most of the others were in much worse shape.

Wow!!! This looks like such a cool place! It looks perfect in B&W. Is it protected at all? Or can anyone roam in there at anytime?

Pretty much anybody can wander around the town. There’s not much left of it. I didn’t realize it was a ghost town until I looked it up on the Internet after we got back from our trip. It’s a registered historic site. Evidently it was a thriving metropolis until the 1920s. A rail line went through in a town 20 miles away and killed Hartman, now there’s only a few people there.
