This is one of the specific area's that I wanted to capture with the Samyang 135mm converted to a telescope. A bit overkill perhaps for how wide it is, but if I capture the same area with a narrower filter so all of the Ha background nebula shows up, it could look super cool. But I did enjoy this, though a crop is the way to go I think.
I discovered a new way to remove the background gradiation in an image. Pixinsight recently added GradientCorrection, and so far I will say it blows the doors off of ABE, DBE and Graxpert. It's under Scripts if you want to try it. If you had read any recent efforts of mine with the 135mm Samyang, you had read that the background was becoming a huge gradient mess, and none of the existing 3 main methods to correct it worked completely. But GradientCorrection, was a miracle worker! It will be my first goto in all of my processing even when not using the 135mm, well at least I will test it and see how it works once I switch back to my regular Askar Fra500 scope.
2 sets of images for this. The big problem always with Orion is the core, the Trapezium. So my main image was 2 hours of 120 sec images, with a 2nd set at 10 secs just for the Trapezium so it didn't blow out.
