I captured this last month at my son's house in New Mexico where he has some really dark skies on an acre of land in the desert. I haven't captured M42, the Orion Nebula in a while. I had my Antlia ALP-T filter on, and I was concerned it might be too aggressive of a filter. But when I saw the resulting stacked image I saw all of the Ha nebulosity surrounding it, I was pretty excited as I don't think I captured any of that in my previous attempts. I think the area surrounding Orion was mainly just black space.
So this was cool to get something different. I captured Orion at 120 secs, and I went for 30 sec exposures for the core, the Trapezium. I actually need to go back and do some 10 sec subs for the core I think. In fact, I actually need to go back and get a lot more data on this at 120 secs and 30 secs as well. This is pretty minimum when it comes to Astro.
