Barra's airport uses the beach as a runway. 1 or 2 flights a day between Galsgow and Barra 13 passengers into Barra and 15 passengers out. No refuelling at Barra so planes take off from Glasgow with enough fuel for the return trip so less passengers on the 70min trip to Barra and 2 more allowed on the return as the plane is lighter. This plane is a Twin Otter. I was thinking of waiting until "Winged Wednesday" before posting this

We took a tour of the island and had lunch at one of the tremendous Atlantic facing beaches and then visited another to have a look. As you can see there is almost no swell and this plagued me for the entire trip, looking at my weather App I notice that the sweel is presently the more normal 7 to 8 feet. Always another trip, I hope.
