Peak Colors in a Conifer Forest

Fall colors in old growth coastal rainforests are pretty much confined to either the understory under the evergreen canopy or along the banks of the rivers and streams. As a result I stopped to shoot the maples at just about every river crossing I could find along the north Fork of the Smith River. Colors were pretty much at peak when I visited this last week.

C&C always welcome.

This is really great Alan, I have come to appreciate your more subdued fall colors in that area.
Thanks Jim - it's not so much that the colors are subdued but more that they are less frequent amongst the evergreens. Along the edges of the places where there is a lot of agricultural activity the colors can be pretty intense although its mostly yellows and oranges.
