Peak Rhode Show

My next door neighbor's rhododendron exploded into full bloom so I grabbed a shot of the show it had on display. White rhodies are the first ones we usually see in full bloom so other colors should be getting started around town now.

Very cool Alan! I don't recall ever seeing white Rhodies down in California. And it reminds me, I need to see if I can get up to Yosemite for the Dogwoods as they should be starting to bloom.

Thanks Jim - we have lots of the white ones up here. Dogwoods up here have gone nuts this year so hopefully you have something similar near Yosemite.

Thanks Jameel - this plant went from a couple of blooms to this peak in about 3 days. I figured at that pace I better shoot it while I can

What a different world than here..........we have plenty of white, but it's the cold stuff! Enjoy them a little extra for me!

Very nice Alan. Although I really like Rhododendrons, they can be a bit invasive and kill all competing plants near them

Thanks Kevin - my wife must have had similar thoughts as she ripped out several of them that were on our property right after we moved here. They also can be somewhat high maintenance if you really want lots of blooms.
