Phantom Reflection

From Crater Lake NP in Southern Oregon, this tiny island is named the Phantom Ship. Phantom Ship is actually a resistant remnant of an ancient volcanic cone that was engulfed in the growing Mazama volcano. This vent shared the underground changer that fed Mount Mazama and was part of its early mountain building phase. These rocky spires remained after Mount Mazama's massive eruption and collapse, displaying the oldest rock in the Crater Lake basin over 400,000 years old.

I like your PoV for this shot. I have only shot this from up on the rim and not with water this calm. Looks neat with the IR palette.
Thanks Alan! This is from the rim viewpoint, 200mm lens on a crop body, so 300mm effective. The calm water was a first for me at Crater Lake.
This is super cool! Did you hike down the trail a bit to capture this? I think that trail is out of commission now?
Thanks Jim, it's from the rim viewpoint, and from 2013!
Fascinating composition. The island appear to float. Nicely done. Its been ages since I have been there (like not in the digital era)
Thanks Jameel! It does look like it's floating and when the water appears more wavy, it looks to be moving. And then the IR makes it seem more surreal!
