The Pickering's Triangle is in the Veil Nebula complex. I have captured the East and West Veils before, but this section that's in between them, I had just not noticed really, and never knew it had a name until a few days ago. Imaging from the patio at my house in Southern California, besides the Bortle 9 Light Pollution, I have a kind of small window to the sky due to other buildings, tall trees, etc. So I really only have 5 or 6 DSO's that I can image, and the other day I was scrolling through trying to find something new in that area to image.
It's high up in the sky at the beginning of darkness, but I found out the Light Dome of pollution extends pretty high up, so I could only get about 3 hours of usable images before the Light Dome just really started washing out details. So this image was taken over 2 nights.
If anyone knows the scientific designation for this area can you please share it? I couldn't find anything other then the name of the area.
