Mom and cub sleeping on a rocky shore near Somerset Island, NWP. Shot from about 50 metres at 560mm (100-400mm + 1.4TC)
Wildlife in the NWP tends to be very skittish when humans appear, especially polar bears since they have been hunted by the Inuit and others for thousands of years. And tour operators follow AECO (Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators) guidelines which means they keep their distance from wildlife.
