Colorado seems to have a lot of farms that are opened to the public. You can go into them and pick vegetables, or buy ones that are pre-picked. Lot's of them have play area's for the kids too. I haven't been to them all, but my favorite one by far is Miller Farms. I have gone there with my daughter and grandkids for quite a few years now. They have hay rides you can go on that will take you out into the fields earlier in the year if you want to pick your own beans or corn, cauliflower or broccoli. You can go home with backs of vegetables to freeze or eat.
This late in the season there are still some vegetables, but in October with Halloween just around the corner, it's all about pumpkins!
