Pushing up Daisies

Nice to catch the blooms with all of them at peak flowering. There always seem to be some spent blooms in the clusters I typically see. I like the deep green backdrop.

The scene looks cooler than our afternoon temperatures have been for several days now.

Thanks Alan. I'm an early riser anyway, so I prefer to go for morning shoots whenever possible, agree this heat makes good weather for enjoying the AC while sipping ice water inside on the couch!

I love this Michael! So vibrant! What a great sight to wake up to.

What new lens are you testing?

Lovely shot Michael. Great contrast between the flowers and the dark green background. Looks like you're using the Tamron 70-300mm f4.5-6.3 Di III RXD, what are your thoughts about it?

I am indeed using that Tamron lens. As all Nikon Z shooters are aware, Nikon is taking its time to fill out the Z mount lineup and I couldn't wait to fill my need for a telephoto zoom. The good news is it's very sharp at 300mm, better than the price would have you believe, and that's where I will probably be using it most. The bad news is from before 200mm all the way to 300mm you're at f6.3, so no super creamy OOF backgrounds, but more than acceptable when close focusing, like the daisy image. All in all, it's a good lens for the money, and very light in weight, a good match for my Z5. I just wish I could get the same zoom range with an f4 constant aperture.
