Question for birders!

I'm from the southwest Fl. and this year we had some western birds show up that were rare for us. We had the Grooved Bill Ani, Ash throated Flycatcher, Cinnamon Teal, and Bullock Oriole, and we also had an Iceland Gull. I know there are a lot of people are from the west here at Focal World. Do you get very many eastern birds show up out your way?

Hi Chuck,
We do every once in a while. Over the last five years we have had painted buntings, Louisiana waterthrushes, and a yellow-throated warbler. We even had a least sand plover from Mongolia.
Large storms are usually responsible because they blow birds off course.

Thanks for the response Doug. We had a good first part of the year for rare birds.
