Rain Forest Floor

Another testimony to my adult onset attention deficit disorder - the forest floor at my feet. In this case I almost stepped on my subject while setting up my DSLR/Tripod for a forest scene in the Bogacheil rain forest. Light drizzle keeping everything damp and the colors deep I was completely focused on moss with fall colors.

I looked down to see what I was about to plant my tripod leg onto and spotted this scene. I interrupted my "real" photo and grabbed my iPhone to shoot this at my feet. It's interesting to think about what it would take to set up my DSLR/tripod to shoot this as opposed to grabbing the scene with the small form factor camera in my pocket.

C&C always welcome.

Amazing shot. Reminds me of my fist digital ca,era, a Nikon 990. I was so amazed at he image quality in such a small package and digital at that. I expect that Iphones are well past the Nikon990.

Hey Alan, this turned out pretty good. I am sure it would have been quite the pain to get down there with your real camera.

Nice scene, Alan. I feel the large brown leaf is a huge distracting element here. And, I want to see the mushroom without the leaf on it. and maybe it being a more central subject here.

No argument at all. With 20/20 hindsight I should have taken the time to clean up my subject a bit but in this case I just knelt down and shot the scene "as is" pretty much underneath my tripod which was set up for the next forest leaf/moss image. I do not posses p-shop skills to fix something this egregious.

The worst of it is - those are alder leaves and that's about as colorful as they get in the fall as they change from green to dead.
