Ranunculus - a Study in Red

My true sign of spring was on display on a rack in front of a grocery store on Wednesday in this case with shelves showing off pots with different colors of Ranunculus. The colors were pretty intense and none more so that this specimen in red. The backdrop wasn't nearly as nice as the bloom so I opted to isolate the bloom in processing. This was such an intense red it was almost hard to edit.

Thanks! All of the different colors of these blooms I saw in this display were incredibly intense colors. After staring at this while I did the edits I had a blue spot in the center of my eyes for a while.

Thanks Jim - I go out of my way to to check out their displays after a banner year for nice blooms last spring. Last Wednesday was the first time they have really pulled out the stops this year and they did not disappoint.

Thanks Jameel - I always get a little nervous about working with reds this intense as they tend to take a dive when you convert to sRGB jpegs.
