Red Rock Lake View

A nice summenr day in mid-July at Red Rock Lake. Clouds forming over the Indian Peak Mountains in the background make a nice backdrop for the lake framed in evergreen trees.

Not hard to see where the name came from with the rocks down by the lake. Looks like a nice place to escape the summer heat down at lower elevations.

Indian Peaks Wilderness is such a fun place Larry. I have hiked into it a couple of times to get to some waterfalls back a few miles from the trailhead. I need to get back there.

I really like this one of Red Lake, it's a fun cool lake.

Hi Alan yes an appropriate named lake! It is a beautiful place to spend a summer day chilling out from the Denver heat!

Thanks Jim for the comments and I agree the Indian Peaks area is fun. I can't drag my old legs very far up those trails any more, but I keep trying!
The problem now is you have have a reserved time slot to get up to the trail head, a real bummer. No long ago the only problem was getting there early enough to find a parking spot!
