That is a really cool pose you caught this bird in - it shows off the markings well. I love listening to these birds.

I agree Michael. I never gt tired of Red-winged Blackbirds. Taking or viewing.
Not so common though if you live in Southern California! 
I grew up with them in Minnesota and always loved them. But after my parents moved us out to California I never saw another one for maybe 20 or 30 years. In California, about all we have is Seagulls and crows. So for me at least, now when I see some in Colorado or when I go back to Minnesota, I always get really excited.
