Just spectacular. Love the colors, the clarity and detail
I never tire of seeing these DSO images. The colors here are gorgeous.

This is so cool Fred! Love the detail too, and how you maintained a good exposure in the core area (I forget the proper name) which is not easy at all.
Which NB filter are you using? Imaging with a 90% moon takes some skill.
If I could suggest? Just a slight nudge of the color balance to the Magenta which would get your stars white I think.

Awesome amount of detail ! and an interesting color palette but I guess the moon had something to say about that. Pity the core and trapezium couldn't be more defined but it is a really hard target to process. May I ask what your exposures were ? If you are using PixInsight the GeneralisedHyperbolicStretch can go a long way in bringing out the detail in there in addition to some careful use of the HDRMultiscaleTransform process. But all in all, a great job and a striking image for sure!
Thanks! The Trapezium was in the original but when I used starnet to reduce the stars, it wiped it out. I started with 5.5 hours but it blew out all the highlights. I finally went with 75 subs at 120 seconds, and gain of 100, (recommended by ZWO). I probably could have gone with less but I like what I ended up with except the color. That has been fixed by Jim’s suggestion.

very nice! Lots of detail pulled out on this one. I have a bunch of data on this recently as well, as I was long overdue for creating an updated version. The moon doesn't help, but looks like in the case of your version here you still got a great result.
