Did you shoot this from a kayak? Focus seems a bit soft but without a fast shutter speed (and likely high ISO) it would be hard to hold steady for a shot in this light.

I have only visited San Clemente and Santa Catalina (and I wasn't paddling).

Hi Cetywa,

That's a very cool view, and a great idea on how to bring some interest to the Channel islands. Most of them are so barren, they really are not very photogenic. It will be interesting to see what else you come up with as you explore them more.

I agree with Alan, it's a tad bit soft. Not horribly so, but yeah, one where you would have needed a faster shutter speed if you were shooting from a Kayak.

BTW, were you on a Kayak too? That's quite a ways out to be on a Kayak it would seem.

Yeah, I'm so sad it's a tad bit soft. And this is the sharpest one I have of all my photos :( Actually, Anacapa Island is gorgeous.

Yeah, I wish I had gone with a higher ISO or faster shutter speed. It was such a rush job to try and get this. (We were on a boat, not a kayak).
