Sedona - Grand Canyon Trip

It has not been a productive year for me scenic photography-wise, with lots of things getting in the way of being able to go out and travel and take images. My wife and I were finally able to take a short trip this past week down to the Sedona area for a few days, which also included a quick one night stand in Grand Canyon National Park as well. It was a lot of driving getting down there and back, with some bad weather to drive through on the last day getting home, but it was still a fun trip. The weather (other than the last travel day) was very nice, and the scenery did not disappoint.

I will post a couple of images here, and then again in a day or 2 with a couple more.

Here is one from Sedona of Courthouse Butte, an imposing rock that dominates the view from many areas around Sedona.

Here is one from the Grand Canyon, just setting up right near our lodge for a sunset opportunity that never materialized, but that blue hour light still made for some great views.

I will have a few more to post soon. Appreciate any feedback, and thanks for looking.

I love the clouds and the light in Sedona. The clouds look like they are radiating out from the butte. Sweet shot.

Classic view of the Grand Canyon. I have shot from that viewpoint and know the feeling you get when an amazing sunset did not come your way that evening. I might have this same shot somewhere in my stash from a similar evening many years ago.

That sounds like a fun trip Mike. I am glad you got out and had a chance to stretch your legs.

Both are really wonderful images. You capture the essence of both locations in them.
