Taken on 1/21 is one of my favorites to capture,

Problem with my green/yellow colorblindness, I have trouble with my processing of blues-purples, turquoise, (they all look the same to me)
And I am sure the color calibration (or lack of) on my color monitor doesn't help...

So I need your help in picking the better rendition of these 2 options. I am told the top one is turquoise.
Data captured with ths SV svx102/with reducer, the asi2600mc, l-extreme, and 2 nights (14hrs) of 5 min light frames.

Let me know your thoughts.

Hey Ed,

Almost 2 completely different looks and feels and both work.

#1 is your typical Rosette, and that's great because that's beautiful. It has that nice core are looking like blue Oiii. It's my favorite of the two.

#1 doesn't have any turquoise coloring. It's a nice baby blue if you will, that is the color tone typically seen. For me at least, turquoise is more green. There is no green in that.

Now #2 is so cool and different. I have never seen the Rosette look this way before. The core area has a minimized blue are, it's almost washed out, but it's there but it's like a pale blue, and it doesn't occupy as much space as in #1. What's cool to it is it looks like it's flaming. With the tail it looks like an object on fire hurtling through space.

I would call #2, the Rose on Fire! :)

Not sure if that helps you or not.

Ed,

I favor #1, as Jim says, maybe more conventional result. The 2nd one is trending towards purple which does make it distinctive, but I don't favor that color for astro images (or course nothing but personal preference in play for that decision...)
