I am currently out at Joshua Tree NP to do Deep Space Astro. The moon has shrunk, the skies have cleared, and here I am.
My goal was to capture the Lobster Nebula, but found that it wouldn't clear the surrounding hills until closer to midnight, so I had to come up with something else to capture. While looking at SkyGuide I clicked on a red spot and it said it was SH2-54 and it was up after sunset. So I went for it until the Lobster Nebula for higher.
With ASIAir (Astro controller) it has a Live mode, where it stacks the images while it captures them and I can view the Live stacked images on my iPad (used to control the ASIAir). I am also able to save them if I want onto my iPad in addition to the USB stick on the ASI.
So this is one I saved onto the iPad as a Jpg. I then sent it to my iPhone and did some quick editing.
This is certainly tough looking, but it made me happy. I will do an official edit when I get back home, but for now, I was sure impressed with what I could do with a simple edit.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
