Shore Acres State Park ( Part 3 - The Gardens )

I apologize in advance for not having a wide-angle view of the gardens. I was so consumed with making close up photos that I totally forgot to grab an establishing shot.

Because the Southern Oregon Coast has such a mild climate, there is always something in bloom when you visit, no matter the season. Shore Acres began as a private estate with luxurious gardens featuring trees, shrubs, and flowering plants brought from around the world aboard the sailing ships of pioneer lumberman and shipbuilder Louis J. Simpson.

The only downside to visiting here is the fact that it's a day use area only. It always opens at 8am and closes at dusk. Happy Hunting!

The gardens at Shore Acres are a photographer's delight. My last time in there was a mid October visit with a very different mix of blooms from what you show here. I like your collection here.

I do have some wider shots but only of the pond area since there were staff/volunteers everywhere starting to set up for their Christmas light display. They have one of the more spectacular light displays out along the OR coast that starts right around Thanksgiving.

Thanks Alan.
There is so much to see and photograph here, but I'd put the Holiday Lights display at the bottom of the list. Not my cup of tea.
A delightful collection of images. The tight compositions showcase the flowers there quite nicely.
Thanks Jameel. This place will give your macro lens a workout. 😁

My understanding is that the place is an almost constant crowd and the parking area is pretty full. I did hike over to the main Shore Acres surf viewpoint from the campground in December once and promptly turned back around when I saw how many cars were in the parking area. No one really hikes the trails much so it's pretty peaceful.
