Side-striped palm-pit viper

Side-striped palm-pit viper (Bothriechis lateralis) is a venomous pit viper species found in the mountains of Costa Rica and western Panama. The bright green color of this snake is seen because I used a flash. He is quite well camouflaged in thick foliage of forest trees and shrubbery. It is often found at the base of palm fronds.

I'm too old to handle snakes anymore. The lodge guide caught him

they are not aggressive and prefer to let their camouflage protect them. However, they will strike when disturbed.
