Sierra Fireball

Most of the columbines I saw last weekend in the high Sierra were white with pale purple or blue petals. These crimson columbines were the only ones of its kind that I saw all morning. They remind me of a fireball.

Those look quite nice. Good to still have a bloom season for these at altitude. The blooms on the ones in my backyard are long gone at this point of the summer.

From your title I was expecting to see a night sky image with a meteor from the Perseids shower exploding into the sky!

But this is really sweet too Michael. I don't see many Columbines that are this color.
