Skull table

My friend Jamie Russell brought another of his skull tables for me to photograph. His skill level as a furniture maker is really phenomenal. The skull is carved out of a single piece of Maple at a crotch or spot where the tree branches into two trunks. He has the glass cut to fit into the four supports that are spaced just so they have to be spread apart to fit the glass. This puts the supports under tension so the glass remains tight.

Excellent photography and lighting. The way you controlled distracting reflections off the glass was probably tricky -- keeping just the right amount of "see-through" detail.
