My wife and I took a quick trip to the Smoky Mountains to check out this year's wildflowers.

Thanks! The pheasant was just luck. While driving a backcountry dirt/gravel road looking for flowers, an odd shape caught my attention. It was this bird sitting like a statue in the brush. I took only one frame at 400mm (plus this is cropped) with the intention of getting closer but one more step closer and she beat feet back up the mountain... Mike
