Smooth Water

Hi - my name is Alan and I suffer from AAADD (Acute Adult onset Attention Deficit Disorder). I have a habit of starting to go somewhere but get so distracted along the way I barely make it there because I experience yet another episode and have to stop so many times along the way :)

In this case I noticed some great backlit colors and was driving along the Smith River with almost glass like water. The problem was that the colors were off to my left and the water was on the right so I grabbed my drone and flew it over to where I could get the view that included both elements.

C&C always welcome.

Hi Alan. Welcome to the group. I don’t think you so much suffer from AAACD as you follow your instincts to get the image you see in your minds eye. I would not call that an affliction just a methodology. And it obviously works for you!

Thanks Michael - I don't actually suffer at all from the affliction and thoroughly enjoy every minute of it. In this case a 39 mile drive up this rioad ended up taking well over 3 hours

A peaceful place and a beautiful reflection in the water.. I would also like to stand there with my camera in hand.. :)
Thanks Peter - I would have been quite happy to stand there with my camera for the shot but in this case the viewpoint is about 15' above the surface of the river and about 20' from either bank of the river. This called for 4 propellers instead of a 3 legged tripod.

Nice colors and reflection. And if it gives any solace I would have taken longer than that on the drive.
Thanks Jameel - I knew the trip up to the trailhead for Kentucky Falls would include a lot of stops but didn't really know how many stops would be called for. As it turned out it took so long to get up there I was running out of daylight on the way back out. Best solution was to drive up Sweet Creek the next day and then make the loop through the forest to get back to this road and make stops all the way back down this road :)
