Spotted Coral Root Orchids

As I was looking for a spot to stack my firewood, I spied these little treasures. I found 4 on my property (maybe more to come? Or dare I hope for Calypsos?). Obviously I decided not to stack my wood there !

Thanks, Larry. I don't use a flash. All done in post: masking, blurring & desaturating.

They do like the decomposed wood, but they also seem to like the moose poop......... Made for some careful squatting to get low for these guys.

Since they top out at about 5 inches and are hard to spot unless you're looking for them, I doubt that they would offend you and you could happily go on your way!
