Spotted Coralroot Orchid

Last week I had come across a particularly nice patch of this orchids (Corallorhiza Maculata v Maculata Orchidacea), but didn't have my camera with me. I went back today, a week later, and, of course, they were gone. A little more walking and searching brought me to this smaller patch. The bonus in coming back a week later was that the sawyers had moved on to the next trailhead, so it was much more peaceful.

I am glad it was more peaceful this time. You have a great eye for these types of flowers and plants.

The stalk on the left is distracting so I would clone that one out, Monika. It would be better to have more space along the right side so I would clone that in using content aware. Finally I would crop the bottom just below the first flowers and crop the left side so that you have a balanced image.

Quite a beautiful photo and orchid. I agree with Doug. Isolating the most beautiful stalk would raise your photo to exceptional level

I initially liked including the nascent blooms, but I can definitely see eliminating them. Thanks, Doug.

Nice specimen Monika. Another nod to Doug's suggestions.
Try this one out

Great edit, your masking is impeccable.
I always found masking to be a royal PITA. Of course, then I sucked at it. And still do, but I'm starting to watch tutorials in hopes of making it less tedious, though it kept me up about 3 hours past my bedtime getting obsessed with trying to make it look decent. A larger monitor (as compared to a laptop and a comfortable chair & option to stand instead help a lot, too!)
