Spring in the San Juans

I have to confess that when I saw the title I was expecting an image of the San Juan Islands.

This is an area I need to explore as it is a bit of a hole in my travel locations. Images like this one reenforce that. Very nice.

I remember this location from my trip a couple of years ago. The light wasn't this good though. On my list to visit again for sure.

Lots of foreground interest in this photo. Have you tried cropping a little of the top?
Hey Kurt, thanks!

I haven't cropped from the top, though I thought about it. So I cam glad you said something. I also have a tighter shot that I like from this location which then eliminates some of the sky.

I'd be interested in that fighter shot. As much as I like this side scene, I find myself wanting the mountain to be a little more prominent.

A very nice image. A tighter shot with more prominent mountain will likely lose the fence whic is a strong foreground here. Or perhaps a vertical shot. I lean strongly towards landscape orientation more times than not.

Thanks Jameel, I am glad you like this.

Yeah, the tighter shot I have of this, which I will have to post later does totally lose the fence as it's actually quite a bit tighter, it starts with the pasture land as its base. It works nicely, but I do have a real affection for the fence and the foreground plants in this version. I shoot from this spot several times a year, so I probably should work to compile a 4 season series of it.
