Springtime Maroon Bells

We are all so familiar with fall colors at Maroon Bells, that I had decided I wanted to specifically shoot it with wildflowers instead of fall colors. So I made a few trips there and this is one of the ones I liked.

Nice - and complete with a creature feature out in the water. I like the cluster of clouds right over the mountains and the foreground flowers.

I like the leading line of the stream here and the flowers and moose and clouds just keep making it better.

Ha ha, thanks for the reminder about the moose.... this is a time I set up safely away from the moose, maybe a couple of hundred yards away. I liked that he was just a distant visual point of interest. As you can see though in this shot he is now charging thanks to someone getting too close and spooking him. So as he is charging away from them he starts racing towards my direction and probably about 6 others that are within about 30 yards of me. Well as he runs and gets closer, he is still far enough away that there is no way to know what his exact path would be, and it's just an open field area next to the lake with no trees or anything else to hide or gain protection if he did come close.

Well of course he did end up coming close, probably within 6 feet of me. There was no where to go, so the best I could do is stand up tall and my arms out trying to look large. Fortunately he just kept on running and running.
