Great job on this, Oliver! I can imagine this being a very frustrating image with all the variables. But I believe your patience paid off as you came away with quiet a stunning image! A couple suggestions I may: if you straightened the horizon line it may give a slight diagonal component to the Milky Way and strengthen the composition. Also, there is a little star trailing to the left of the rock - that's probably a pretty easy fix as I'm sure you spent a lot of time with this one! The other thing would be the horizon on the far left. The right side looks great, the left maybe a little contrived? but you'd have to go back to the original files and that may be an issue - trust me, I've been there!! Anyhow, some things to consider....and I do commend you for the time and effort! For me, this would have been monumental!

Kurt, thank you so much for the suggestions, you really observed many details I have missed, I will go back to the files to work on the photo, suffice to say I was a bit exhausted after spending 9 hours on the round trip to Pfeiffer Beach & coming back.

Really appreciate your advice, it 's hard to find my own mistakes.

Really stunning. I like both. I suppose if i had to choose I would go with the 2nd. Great job on the execution!

Cool. I'm sure the processing on this was a big job. Take some time off!
