Thanks Chuck. Kind of the easiest AP pic one can take. The most important thing is to capture the colors of the stars. I supposed I could have taken a number of subs and stacked them. However it was getting a little late and I was frozen so one closing shot for the night was it.

Thanks Mike. I just use my Nikon Z5 with a 60-600mm lens. I don't have a dedicated astro camera. In capture and then PP, I always strive to achieve correct color of stars and sky.
Much appreciated Jim. This was my final image of the night and to be totally honest, I had enough of the wind and cold. So I decided to stop the exposure and call it a night! Whatever I got and got! lol I plan on doing some much longer exposures when it get warmer!Hey Yervant, I have been doing star trails for almost 50 years. As a teenager when I was out camping I would set up my 35mm Nikon up on its tripod outside my tent and let it run capture the stars all night long.
This looks great, all you need is some better conditions so you can get longer star trails. I will kindly disagree about the need for a foreground. Certainly a good foreground wouldn’t hurt this, but since you were aimed at the North Star, for me this totally carries the image.
