I was down in Schwabachers in the evening to show the grandkids that area, when the storm clouds became much more serious and the wind and rain made it hard to photograph. So we packed up the kids and was heading back to camp to cook dinner, but as I got close to Blacktail Pond Overlook I decided another detour and delay was needed.
You can see the moose starting to come into the composition, and the bit of color around the setting sun while it rained. Later on as the stormy sunset went through many variations to the point where it finally turned the clouds almost completely in color. It was a sunset where 3 or 4 times I would head back to the van knowing that I still needed to start the campfire and cook dinner, but I would never get more then 20 feet towards the van when the conditions changed and I headed back to a spot on the overlook that I liked. This is one of those cases where prior there had been no color, just stormy dark clouds, as I glanced back as I was walking away I saw the color start to appear so I stopped and hurried back to set back up again.
It was one of those cases where the stormy sunset just kept one upping itself, I was really glad to have just been able to be there and see it and capture it.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
