Tetons Arrowleaf Balsamroot Redux

I shot back up to the Tetons for another attempt at the Arrowroot Balsomroot at sunrise. On the way, on I-80 (I think), there as a loud "bang" and I thought that maybe a bird & my windshield had collided, though I had no recollection of seeing something coming towards me. No warning lights on the Fj, so I kept going & didn't inspect until my next gas stop; the piece of trim/moulding above my windshield had blown off. No gust of wind or oncoming semi that I could recall, so I just hoped that it wasn't a piece integral to the structural integrity of the windshield. I reached the Tetons without incident, but because the road to the dispersed camping was now dry & passable in rear-wheel-drive, there were no campsites until over the peak and down the other side until just the uphill side of the "4WD recommended" sign. After 8 hours of driving, I had no energy left to drive back up around sunset (which is sub-optimal for that area anyway), so just hunkered down and tried to ignore the music blasting from the RVs 1/4 mile further on down the road. Because of the benign weather conditions, there were no clouds or ground fog in the morning like there were the week before, but I did manage to catch some alpenglow. And I managed to get my T/S focused in time ;). Not sure that I'll pursue this composition in years to come, but is sure was nice to see the increased variety of flowers compared with the previous week.

Excellent result in spite of your being road weary. I like how you set up your T/S for the depth in this scene.

Bummer the road were passable for the loud RV campers. Did they have their volleyball nets out too to demonstrate their Great Outdoors preparedness creds too?

Hopefully no repercussions on the lost FJ parts?

Thanks, Alan.
It was at least 11:00 at night when the neighbors were celebrating, so I didn't walk back down to see what their festivities included beyond the boom boxes (or whatever the current iteration is).
I'll take the FJ to the body shop next week to see what the damage is. There was another FJ owner at the TH who suggested I use his waterproof tape that he'd gotten for a road repair on his '08 to seal the top of the windshield so that water wouldn't get in. We taped it up (not that it would hold if a big gust of wind was determined to rip the windshield off) to at least give me a psychological bandaid. Fingers crossed.

Really sweet Monika. I like the way you worked these. I do think cropping a bit from both edges to lose the flower on the right edge and the partial flower on the left would take this up a notch so that the bunch in the middle is all the eye sees at first.

I will check that out, Jim. When I composed it, I was on the fence about leaving the flower on the right in or not.

Love your colorful composition—nice. Sorry about your FJ, but hopefully a minor repair.
Thanks, John. Repairs always cost more than expected (or wished) & I've read that it's easy to install that trim incorrectly so it just blows off again. I figure that it'll be worth it to have a pro do it.
